Polychromatic light sources

Polychromatic light covers a specific range of wavelengths, and it can be used for spectral measurements. 


Location: VTT, University of Eastern Finland (UEF), Espoo, Joensuu, Oulu

Wavelength: VIS (400 nm - 700 nm), NIR (900 nm – 1600 nm), SWIR (1.2 µm - 2.5 µm), MWIR (2.5 µm - 7 µm)

Available light sources:

  • SuperK Compact, Fiber optical white light source 450 – 2400 nm (Contact: Pertti Pääkkönen, UEF, Joensuu)
  • Mid-IR Supercontinuum Laser Source, Leukos, 800-4100 nm (Contact: Noora Heinilehto, VTT, Oulu)
  • Supercontinuum white light laser, 500-2400 nm (Contact: Markku Kapulainen, VTT, Espoo)
  • Superluminescent diodes, Broadband light sources, Central wavelengths 1080 nm, 1310 nm, 1440 nm, 1550 nm, and 1650 nm (Contact: Markku Kapulainen, VTT, Espoo)
